Jennifer Nielsen graduated from the 3000 hour Medical Massage Therapy program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. Before starting massage therapy schooling, she earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Kamloops, BC. Jennifer was born and grew up on the North Shore in Lynn Valley and still loves to spend her spare time hiking around the canyons and mountains in the area as well as attending yoga classes. She is an avid gardener, knitter and reader as well.
Jennifer is passionate about helping motor vehicle accident victims recover fully from their injuries and treating sufferers of many types of headaches (tension, migraine, rebound, pregnancy induced). She is a certified ART® (Active Release Technique) provider and incorporates this technique into most treatments. Patients can expect verbal and/or functional movement assessment, individualized treatment and specific homecare exercises and/or stretches with each appointment.
As a student, Jennifer won first place in the North American Massage Therapy Foundation’s Student Clinical Case Report for her study on the effects of massage therapy on sufferers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She continues to participate regularly in research projects that tie the effects of therapeutic massage to improvements in health and reduction of stress in many different types of patients.
