Advanced Assessment & Joint Mobilization of the Spine

This workshop covers motion palpation and joint mobilization of the entire spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) as well as the sacroiliac joint and rib cage. Prerequisite: Completion of Clinical Orthopedic Massage Therapy (COMT) of either the neck or lower back/pelvis workshop.The essence of a joint mobilization is to stretch the intrinsic tissues of the joint (ligaments, joint capsules, short deep muscles) by stabilizing the proximal bone and then introducing a gradual gentle-but-firm stretch force to the distal bone.
