Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Working Together
Are you or is someone you care for in pain? Perhaps you’re feeling stiff or achy in the morning. Maybe you’re an athlete recovering from injury, or you want to optimize your athletic performance. Whatever your challenge, chiropractic and physiotherapy are worth your time and consideration.
How Chiropractic and Physiotherapy Work Hand in Hand
At Equilibrium, we’re already known for providing excellent massage therapy services to ease your stress and pain. We’re committed to building an integrated healthcare team to serve you even better. At our Tillicum clinic, we’ve added a chiropractor and physiotherapist. The aim, as always, is to find the treatment care plan that best serves you.
Some may think that physiotherapists and chiropractors have a competitive relationship. Our physiotherapist and chiropractor work in cooperation to serve our patients. Comprehensive care solves musculoskeletal problems better and faster.
Chiropractors can suggest diagnoses for non-musculoskeletal conditions and their care plans use more manual adjustments than physiotherapy. In other words, chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of the spine to achieve optimal movement. Chiropractic is often geared to a more maintenance-based approach and the focus may be more on the neck and back. You won’t necessarily come in for chiropractic care only when you are hurt.
Physiotherapists get referrals and can diagnose musculoskeletal conditions. Their treatment plans tend to be more hands-off, using equipment to treat and retrain abnormal movement patterns.
Better Health Faster
Injuries can have many causes. Habits of movement and daily living can predispose you to specific injuries. Understanding how your body works is a powerful beginning to healing. To enhance your well-being, comprehensive same-day treatments with more than one practitioner is a time-saving approach. Our physiotherapist and chiropractor use unique skills to complement each other to improve your health and well-being.

You’re Part of our Healthcare Team, Too
Healing is never a passive process. Whether you choose to treat yourself to physiotherapy, chiropractic care or massage therapy, at Equilibrium, we’re all working together. You’re also working with us. Our philosophy is to take active steps to achieve calm minds and to optimize body function. Getting better begins with making an appointment with us. All our practitioners are problem solvers. We may suggest exercise, postural corrections, and self-care you can continue at home and at work to achieve your health goals. What you do between appointments is just as important as what we can accomplish in the treatment room.
Chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage therapy all have one important commonality: you becoming your best self.
The word “equilibrium” means a state of physical balance and a calm state of mind. Whichever treatment is most appropriate for you, we’ll help you find that balance at Equilibrium.
