With 5 years experience, Melanie has learned from some great people. Starting in NL at a well-known physiotherapy clinic, she quickly immersed herself in the rehab world and became a talented therapist. She was able to connect and work closely with a vast population of people from pre and postnatal clients to those with chronic joint and muscle pain, post-surgical pain and scarring, cancer, sports injuries, postural dysfunction, physical and emotional trauma, and nervous system conditions. A very humbling growth spurt.
After moving to Toronto, she found herself working alongside another therapist, a teacher, who encouraged the importance of treating the fascia, and was able to study the myofascial trains of the body. Melanie learned the language of the fascia and soon found a gift in listening and interpreting the myofascial tension that people hold. These patterns can be a result of physical, mental and emotional tension, from past injury, trauma, chronic habits, and life! If you didn’t know, the fascia is a connective tissue that wraps the entire body like saran wrap, connecting bone to tendon to muscle, wrapping all your organs and traveling throughout your cranium and spine. It is extremely useful to treat in addressing a person as a whole. Here Melanie worked with people from all corners of the world, and was able to help people in a deep way. She also benefited personally from receiving consistent treatments and was able to connect to her own physical, mental and emotional sources. An empowering time.
Melanie loves all things self-awareness and healing, and would someday like to own her own country space, where she works with horses, music, the body, and humankind. She hopes to anchor her yoga teacher training soon, in addition, to study in acupressure, craniosacral therapy and always more myofascial. Following her inner voice, she believes anything is possible with commitment, courage, and conviction. Love is ❤BOOK NOW
