Nicolle Maloney , RMT
Nicolle has been practicing since 2016.
First she gained experience at a popular spa downtown, then worked as a mobile therapist in the lower Vancouver Island area on and off while establishing her roots here with us at Equilibrium!
Over the years Nicolle has worked at all of our locations but is currently taking clients at our newest one in the Eagle Creek Village.
She has taken a wide range of continuing education courses from Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian massage) to diving into the world of pain science and understanding its relations to chronic pain.
From her experience at the spa, she was able to perfect her rhythmic flow while combining it with a therapeutic/athletic type approach to create a well rounded and rejuvenating treatment.
Nicolle tends to favour moderate to deeper pressure with active techniques while always working within the client’s pain tolerance but due to her spa background, she is also able to accommodate the lightest of touch for a more relaxing or gentle type of treatment if the client prefers.
She often uses techniques such as general swedish, myofascial release, muscle energy, contract relax type stretching, tapotement (massage in which a muscle belly or group of muscles is tapped rhythmically with the finger tips, palms or sides of the hand; used to stimulate or relax muscle tissue depending on the length of time performed) along with occasional deep tissue to areas in need of this type of pressure.
She has found that her style of treatment has had a wonderful effect on her clients physical concerns, treatments goals and mental wellbeing by establishing an all around trust limiting the bodies natural protective mechanisms, enabling the tissues to release, creating movement to the joints and further decreasing the clients perception of pain.
Nicolle is described as pleasantly professional, a nurturer by nature and meticulous with a curious mind while providing a space where her clients can feel relaxed and accommodated.
In her spare time, she can be found raising her growing family, cheering on her kids soccer teams and enjoying the many adventures that our beautiful planet has to offer.BOOK NOW
